HEP Statistics Playground

A place where statistics from and about the SPIRES-HEP databases will be shared.

The purpose of this area is to share statistical data gathered from the SPIRES databases. Usually this revolves around citation habits of HEP authors, but other items of possible interest may appear here. The title "playground" was intentionally chosen to remind the reader that there are many caveats about the citation counts in SPIRES. The graphs and statistics presented here are meant to be amusing and interesting in nature, but should be treated as such. We take care to post accurate information, but errors will happen in our analysis and the underlying data. Please take this into account when using this information.

Feel free to reproduce or use the data listed here, with proper attribution. Also feel free to let us know if there are errors you have found, or questions that you would like to see answered. Please remember that this page is not our primary mission at SPIRES, and we will present only information that is easy to extract from the database, and only as we have time to do so.
