Microdrop Particle Search

Microdrop Technology for Basic Research

Recent availability of new technology in the fields of computer imaging and microfabrication has made possible inexpensive detectors for performing high mass throughput bulk matter searches for stable isolated subatomic particles with fractional electric charge and for stable massive particles with integral charge. The basic technology is based on Robert Millikan's oil drop charge measurement apparatus.
