Founded in 1989, the AHRO has primary responsibility for the Laboratory's documentary heritage but relies on the community to help it in this endeavor. 

  • Serves as a repository for documentation of the Laboratory's organizational and scientific history
  • Promotes knowledge of the Laboratory's history and important scientific and technical accomplishments
  • Provides guidance on relevant state and federal laws, Department of Energy (DOE) records management policies and procedures, as well as appraisal, records retirement, and retrieval services
