README of MAD model output runs =============================== This is the README file of the directory containing output of MAD (Methodical Accelerator Design) modelling computations of the "decks" of SLAC linear accelerators (LCLS, LCLS-2 and FACET). Auth: Greg White, 8-Jan-2018 Versioning ---------- Each version release of a change to an accelerator's deck is labeled with the "official" date of that release, such as "22DEC17". This label is found in CVS [1], and the output of MAD in directories correspondingly named here, eg 22DEC17/. Main MAD output files: --------------------- .echo Run log .ps Optics plots as specified in the deck in postscript .pdf Optics plots as specified in the deck in pdf .print Table of geometry and optics (twiss) of every element _survey.tape Geometry of each element (see interpretation guide below) _twiss.tape Optics (Twiss) of each element (see interpretation guide below). Output file interpretation -------------------------- *_twiss.tape: Each element is described by a block of 5 lines: line 1: element-typeElement-Name Length elem p1 p2 p3 aperture engineering-type Energy line 2 (element parameters cont'): p4 p5 p6 p7 p8 Formal-device-name(82:105) line 3 (horizontal twiss) : alphax betax mux dx dpx line 4 (vertical twiss): alphay betay muy dy dpy line 5 (orbit): x px y py t pt *_survey.tape: Each element is described by a block of 4 lines: line 1: element-typeElement-Name Length elem p1 p2 p3 aperture engineering-type Energy line 2 (element parameters cont'): p4 p5 p6 p7 p8 line 3 (geometry coordinates): x y z s line 4: yaw pitch roll References ---------- [1] LCLS MAD decks in CVS, http://www.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-wrap/cvsweb/optics/etc/lattice/lcls/?cvsroot=LCLS
