RPC Photon Beam Meeting Notes 5/15/02 Attendees: W. Olson, R. Arnold, P. Bosted, R. Erickson, L. Keller, D. Walz Discussion: 1. Funding to do the photon beam switchyard work has been turned off for now. 2. Design will progress with the following declared; a. The beam-dump angle has been set at 7 degrees. b. Reuse existing dump magnet vacuum chambers. #2 vacuum chamber (dump magnet 2) will have to be modified. c. Vacuum chamber floor and copper bars will be co-planer. The copper bars will be water-cooled. d. Existing dump collimator will be refurbished and reused. e. Toroids can probably be used, but will require rework. f. B34 is the sweep magnet. 3. Ray will work with Scott and Erick to layout the dump magnets, vacuum chambers, and energy detector relationships. 4. The wire array will be designed to accommodate the existing 4" dump collimator.
