Real Photon Collaboration Engineering Meeting 7/17/01 Minutes Attendees: L. Keller, W. Olson, M. Racine, K. Baird, G. Oxoby, T. Weber, K. Griffioen, R. Boyce, R. Rogers Items Discussed: 1. Ken Baird will look into the radiation safety requirements and the addition of a Burn Through Monitor (BTM) behind the SEQ. This BTM will be just big enough to cover the area not covered by the BTM approximately 10 feet up-beam. 2. The price of tungsten needs to be confirmed for use in the D3 Collimator. Dieter Walz will be consulted on the price, since he has purchased tungsten recently. Collimator design with a round or square hole will be discussed further when Peter returns. 3. Gerrard Oxoby has a new motor to check the Goniometer controller operation. 4. Work on the LASS magnet is proceeding, with a test date anticipated in late August 2001. Decisions Reached: 1. A new slip spool with a diameter of 2 inches will be required for backscatter shielding. Action Items 1. Number of cables required from the counting house to ESA. Ongoing Action Items 1. This summer's LASS magnet tests. 2. S. Mao will check to see if additional sand bags are required or if existing ones may be used with local shielding 2. W. Olson will ensure that S. Williams gets the budget when he returns from vacation. 3. Someone should be clearly identified as responsible for the Compton Polarimeter 4. We need to start factoring radiation safety and accident scenarios into the E160 design. Someone needs to be given responsibility for this task
