Attending: Perry Anthony, Peter Bosted, Don Crabb, Keith Griffioen, Bill Olson, Steve Rock, John Weisend Bam Line: Bend will be 7 deg. DC2 will be rebuilt to match what we want (rather than try to modify old one). There may be a 2-month shutdown in summer 03 that will help installation schedule. Ion, Cherenkov, SEQ will now be in ESA (on Moller detector cart). E160 Spectrometer. Mermaid and Tosca 3d magnetic modeling results are getting closer. Fringe field pretty high: Peter plans to move detectors further down-beam. Combined with higher bending power in LASS, will need to be wider than before. Studies show graphite between LASS and detectors still very useful. Wedge length of 1.4 m still looks best. Tom Weber suggests using zinc for the non-magnetic shielding we need, as much cheaper than copper. Price of graphite is about $8000/m**2 for density 1.66: we will need several m**2, so this is not unreasonable. E160 detectors: Keith will bring out PMTs so can test sensitivity to mag. fields at SLAC. Peter, Perry and Bill discussed support frames for hodoscopes. Main frames to built at SLAC, with clearly identified interface to boxes containing each quadrant of a detector sub-plane. E161 simulations: Steve studying single and double muons with Herwig. Peter studied 2 muons some more, and found random coincidences may be a real limitations. Collaboration Meeting. The draft agenda was discussed, and some changes were made.
