Beam-based feedback systems were a key element in the successful operation of the SLC, but some performance limitations were seen. These included incomplete communication between many feedback loops, slow correctors, and non-optimal placement of feedback devices. Recent beam experiments and simulations have improved understanding of feedback performance characteristics, and increased our confidence that important effects are addressed in planning for NLC feedback systems.
