Reference Reactions for the World-Wide LC Study

Keisuke Fujii, Michael Peskin, Francois Richard

In this document, we list a number of reactions that we feel have special importance for understanding the goals of the next-generation linear e+e- collider (LC) and the energy, luminosity, and detector capabilities necessary to achieve those goals. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of reactions that can be studied at the LC. Please let us know of any egregious omissions.

We would like to call special attention to several processes which, in our opinion, give the most important performance criteria for the detector design. These are:

Contact interactions and new Z's

W physics

Top physics

Higgs physics

Supersymmetry

Strong-coupling electroweak physics

Reactions for gamma-gamma collisions
