**Numbers in ( ) under JLC/NLC correspond to 100 Hz repetition rate; numbers in ( ) under CLIC correspond to a
20% dilution in sigma_sub_y and 5% in sigma_sub_x.

dagger For the sake of uniformity, the nominal luminosity is simply defined as equation times the number of crossings per second, and in all cases assumes head-on collisions, no hour-glass effect and no pinch. The actual luminosity incorporates all these effects, including crossing angle where applicable. NLC and JLC calculations assume crab-crossing.

doubledagger The loaded gradient includes the effect of single-bunch (all modes) and multibunch beam loading, assuming that the bunches ride on crest. Beam loading is based on bunch charges in the linacs, which are slightly higher than at the IP.
