Dear all,

this is a short summary of the phone meeting we had on 11/18/02 at
15:00 PST. Please followup if I misunderstood or forgot something.

Cheers,

Website
-------
DK has set up webspace at SLAC (outside of BABAR). This shall be
mirrored at all location willing to do so (for read access). Webpages
to be maintained in CVS with write access for all people in this
 group.

-> DK is looking into whether this is possible at SLAC.

More information should be presented on the web so that the averages
can be better understood for outside people. Decided to set up
webpage (starting from the existing CERN pages) with physics contents
 as of ICHEP 2002.

-> UL will circulate a version 0 before Christmas, to be discussed in
a similar meeting (probably at the beginning of January).

Software
--------
COMBOS currently does not compile on Linux. EB and UL have worked on
 this a bit.

-> Will finalize this.

COMBOS should go into CVS. The input files should go into CVS as
well, so that everything needed for the averages can be tagged. MA
proposed that we should have a maintainer for the code.

Averages
--------
Concern was raised about deadlines and timing of when results are
provided for the averaging: More time would be good to have better
understood procedures (and it's easier to remove one input file in
the last minute than to add one), on the other hand the results might
not yet be past the collaborations. Need to make sure that the
lifetimes are available in a timely fashion.

Another point raised was the approval of the averages in the
collaborations, this will mostly apply to incl Vub since the other
updates are (at the moment) only incremental changes.

-> For Moriond,

there will be no major changes in the averaging of incl Vcb and
   excl Vcb (or Gamma_sl).

no averaging is foreseen for moments. Should come later, though.

there are new analyses on (incl) Vub on the Ups(4S), which should
be combined with COMBOS in this group. For excl Vub, the main
point raised was consistency among the models used for the
   evaluation of the theoretical error.
