Beware Fake DOE CDs
Addressees at DOE facilities have received unsolicited compact disks marked as containing DOE policies and directives. The envelope and marking look official, and DOE information actually is on the disk, but inserting the CD into a computer can install hacker tools. The two most noticeable flaws are that the recipient had not requested the information and the external envelope was mailed with a standard postage stamp rather than a government postage mark (franking). If you receive such a mailing, do not put the CD into a computer. Please immediately notify Computer Security (firstname.lastname@example.org) ASAP.
