Topcite lists are created to provide an insight into the topics of greatest interest in recent research. The following list focuses excusively on papers written during the period 2005-2009 (inclusive) in an attempt to determine some of the more recent works that have had a significant impact.
To do this we have used the new INSPIRE database, narrowing our search to citations from what we consider to be our "core" (a feature new
to INSPIRE, basically the sort of papers submitted to hep-th, hep-ph, hep-lat, hep-ex and gr-qc or otherwise of significant HEP content). Searches in INSPIRE can be
restricted to the core collection through: e.g.
find author d schramm and collection:core
It is a testament to the increasingly close relationship between HEP and astrophysics that, even with this restriction, 2 WMAP papers appear right after the traditional topcite champion, the Particle Data Group's Review of Particle Properties.
