This table consists of the histogram of citations for the entire database. In other words it is the number (and fraction) of the database that falls into certain citation windows.

Number of Papers (Log scale)
Citation Bin 50+100+250+500+1000+
Absolute Amount 26574146833304961343
Percent of total 11.31%6.25%1.41%0.41%0.15%

Data as of Sat 4-Sep-2010 when there were 234885 citeable papers in HEP

Note that citeable papers are all journal and eprint articles for which we can track citations. Also note that the bins are not cumulative (i.e. a paper with 512 citations is only counted in the 500+ bin, not in the 50+ and 100+)

SPIRES HEP was a joint project of SLAC, DESY & FNAL as well as the worldwide HEP community.
It was superseed by INSPIRE
