About the Explain Database
- The Explain Database is a help file for Spires users
and programmers, and normally works as a command function.
Typically, one will type EXPLAIN XXX at a SPIRES interactive
prompt, where XXX is the term or command to be understood.
The database is indexed by word of the term itself, not of
the explanation, so EXPLAIN 'index' will get all the explains
that have 'index' as a key term.
- SPIRES Manuals are online
here .
The manuals may not reflect current versions of UNIX SPIRES but
are an excellent overview and detailing of the workings of
SPIRES for the user or the programmer.
