Advanced Concepts for High-Gradient Acceleration
Abstract
The promise of high-gradient accelerator research is a future for
physics beyond the 5-TeV energy scale. Looking beyond what can be
engineered today, we examine basic research directions for colliders
of the future, from mm-waves to lasers, and from solid-state plasmas,
with attention to material damage, beam dynamics, a workable collision
scheme, and energetics.
