Special Issue on Recruitment and Retention of Science Librarians
Call for Statements of Interest:
JoAnn DeVries (University of Minnesota, Twin Cities) and Pat Kreitz (SLAC,
Stanford) are co-editing a special issue of Science and Technology Libraries on
the topic of recruitment and retention of science librarians. We are interested in
soliciting authors who would like to contribute a paper to this special double-sized
issue. Details follow:
Deadlines:
The final deadline for paper submission is February 15, 2006.
The deadline for expressions of interest has been extended to November 11, 2005.
Suggestions for Topics Include:
Best Practices
Literature Review
Programmatic Implementation
Recruitment Strategies
Research
Standards
Author Instructions
Expression of Interest should include:
Author's name, title and institution
Working title
Draft abstract
Estimate of paper length
Directions for preparing the manuscript:
The Science and Technology Libraries website has an author packet.
Use their directions to prepare both your manuscript and any accompanying
graphs, tables, images, etc.
Completed manuscripts and accompanying graphics files should be emailed as
attachments to the editors on or before February 15, 2006.
If you have not heard back from us confirming receipt of your files within one
working day of your transmission, send us a separate email alerting us to your
original transmission so that we can confirm accurate receipt of all your files.
