48.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The SLC Lam generator is designed to allow the generation of a LAM from a NIM level trigger, such as is generated from the Simple Timing Buffer. When enabled, the LAM state is generated immediately (10-30 nS) following the leading edge of the trigger pulse. A retriggerable lockout is automatically imposed, blinding the module to subsequent triggers until a 2 mS interval is acheived.

48.2 SLAM MODULE DESCRIPTION The SLAM module internally consists of the following descrete elements: o An input receiver and timeout section. o A "LAM State" latch which is set on the receipt of a valid trigger pulse. o A "LAM Enable" latch which allows the propagation of the LAM state to the CAMAC backplane. o Assorted CAMAC interface logic. When a trigger is received, the LAM STATE is generated. If ENABLED, the LAM line is pulled by the module. The LAM is typically cleared with either a) F10 -- Clear LAM State, or b) F11 -- Test and Clear LAM State. Testing and clearing of the LAM State is allowed independent of the LAM Enable state.

48.3 MODULE FUNCTION CODES The CAMAC functions accepted by the SLAM Module are as follows:

SLC LAM GENERATOR(SLAM) Page 48-2 Function Description Q X Code Response Response --------------------------------------------------------- F8*A0 Test Lam (LAM Line) Q=LAM 1 F10*A0 Clear LAM State 0 1 F11*A0 Test & Clear (F8,F10) Q=LAM 1 F24*A0 Disable Lam Enable 0 1 F26*A0 Enable Lam Enable 0 1 F27*A0 Test Lam State Q=State 1 Z*S2 Init module (Enable is disabled)
