Tried outsourcing via campus and Netcom. Performance of ISPs
generally poor & variable (packet loss), outside firewall, and userids/password
Since then also 56kbps standardized, campus also providing direct dial-in,
Both further out solutions are “leased line” non dial up connections, i.e. more
flat rate oriented. Their coverage is still spotty. Will require VPNs.
