Microstation

General Information about Microstation at SLAC

Bentley System's Microstation application is for sophisticated mechanical design, primaily 2-D.
SLAC has only a fairly old version, 5.0, for the Sun platform. Most NT users of Microstation have purchased their own copies, but a network-based copy will be available by the end of 1998. The newer, NT versions can read in native AutoCAD (.dwg) files, which facilitates collaboration among groups using both AutoCAD and Microstation.
