Pspice 9.2, for Windows

The basic idea for running the application is to install it on your local drive from the X-drive-based server copy.

• Log on with local system administrator privileges.

  Double-click on the remote installation program at:
  X:\Applications\Supported\OrCAD\9.2\CD\setup.exe

• Agree to the various license requirements on the next several screens.

• On the "Licensing" screen, select "Network Licensing"

• On the "Network Installation Options" screen, select 'Configure Client'.

• On the "File Server Location" screen, browse to the server dir: X:\Applications\Supported\OrCAD\9.2 (not the default)

• On the "Local Components Location" screen, browse to the local dir where you would like to install the application.

• On the "Select Components" screen, keep all three selected components, since we want them installed into your local drive.

• For the "Select Program Folder" entry, something like "OrCAD 9.2" seems preferable to the suggested default.

• Near the end of the installation process, several menu prompts appear for dealing with file types that are currently registered to other applications. This is only for being able to double-click on a Pspice-related file and have the right application invoked. It doesn't affect anything internal to Pspice-related executables and how they function. So it should be safe enough to ignore all these prompts, since resetting things may interfere with other applications.

• You are then prompted whether you want to install the Adobe Acrobat reader. If you (presumably) already have it on your computer, you shouldn't need to install again.

• After completion of the installation, there should then be a Program Folder entry for OrCAD 9.2, which includes Pspice and Capture.

• If you haven't already done so, proceed to the license setup:

• Go to area: Start/Settings/Control panel

• Double-click the Systems Folder and select tab 'environment', or, for Windows XP, 'Advanced', then 'environment'.

• Create variable CDS_LIC_FILE, preferably as a system variable, and set its value to:

  1700@sunlics1;1700@sunlics2;1700@sunlics3
