Minutes from the 04/20/05 LCLS SLC IOC meeting: (1) Diagnostics: Diane and Debbie have added diagnostics EPICS PVs. They have set up the software so that to add a new diagnostic, one item is added to a table in the proper device support table, a line is added to a database template file, and the SLC-IOC diagnostics EDM display updated. Note that LCLS EDM standards do not exist yet so the display is for testing only. Both Diane and Debbie have been updating their design documents. (2) RTEMS Testing: Debbie did a regression test of the basic services on RTEMS and found no problems. Thanks to Doug for helping her get set up. The database downloaded OK, no data conversion issues, messages were passed correctly, stop/restart worked. No further RTEMS testing will be done until the next big release (probably Ron MacKenzie's cstr/async release). The only open item is for Stephanie - need an NFS mount point to access the database primary.map file (part of database download). (3) BPM Service: Diane and Debbie are gathering BPM requirements. They are talking to SLC control system people and getting an education on the SCP interface. They also plan to talk to Till and Patrick. Tony has warned them that new BPM types normally require changes to the SCP panels and SCP/micro messages so he thinks that any new LCLS BPM types (ie, cavity BPMs) will require changes to the SLC control system. Diane and Debbie need to concentrate on getting the existing interface requirements down first - changes due to LCLS-unique requirements need to be written down but should be kept separately and implemented by a separate group with a different focus. They are also developing a list of functions that will NOT be implemented like private calibrations and fast-feedback style dithering. Kristi recommends a look at: http://www-ssrl.slac.stanford.edu/lcls/prd/1.1-304-r0.pdf Diane is also starting to look at BPM micro job code and the structure of the messages passed per function codes of interest. The functional requirements review will be in 3 weeks after a discussion with Patrick. Note that the existing function requirements document will be reorganized to be general and basic services requirements only. The BPM and magnet requirements will be in separate documents. (4) Magnet Service: Kristi is currently busy with PS work including R3.14.6 RTEMS/mv5500 system that PCD can use on their test stand, PS EDM displays, and PS web page information. Also, she is meeting with others, getting rack information, etc. Not a lot of progress on the func reqts in the last few weeks. Stephanie to help.
