Minutes from the 05/18/05 LCLS SLC IOC meeting:

(1) BPM Service:

    Mike Zelazny created the main LCLS Index SCP panel and LCLS BPM device 
    SCP panel.  See this link for how to get to those panels:

    Mike also started the LCLS BPM DGRP (lists LCLS IOCs that have BPMs) and 
    BPMD (BPM definition containing acq info like particle type, beam code, 
    etc).  Mike wants to be included in our working (non-lcls-slc) group 
    emails.  Mike's help is much appreciated.
 
    Diane and Debbie continue to gather BPM requirements.  There will be
    a reqts review later this week.  A separate review will probably be 
    needed later when Patrick is back and depending on how many issues come 
    up during the first review.

(2) CSTR/ASYNC/CMLOG/MSG/DBS:

    Except for job-status-check logic (AMSK/JMSK/MSTA), Ron is done with
    coding and testing.  He ran his SLC IOC for 4 days with no problems.
    Steph has done some testing on RTEMS, enough for now.  Ron will skip 
    RTEMS testing and move on to CMLOG RTEMS port.

    Steph found where a camac crate verification request is sent from PARANOIA.
    Ron agreed to fix PARANOIA to not send the message if IOC. 

    Ron will change cstr.dbs for XL01 to XL05 so that JMSK reflects only basic 
    service jobs for now.  Once the BPM and magnet jobs are available, we'll
    change it back.

    Ron is gone on vacation this week.

    Debbie's done a little more debugging of the DBS service.  

    There is a problem with the MSG service - sometimes after multiple
    restarts are done, the MSG service has a TCP error and the IOC requires
    a reboot.  This is not a high priority bug and is not impacting anybody's
    work.
 
(3) Magnet Service:

    Kristi mentions that LCLS will have some magnet movers and that magnet
    movers require significant VMS coding.  Do we need to support magnet movers
    from the SCP?

    Kristi will be ready for a review in 2 weeks on Wed or Thurs afternoon.

    Kristi is working on getting pscApp built on 3.14.7/RTEMS and use it to
    control the PCD test stand. She'll also add the SLC libraries to her app.

(4) EPICS 3.14.7:

    Kristi built 3.14.7 base for RTEMS mv5500, RTEMS svgm, and linux-x86 in 
    the LCLS group space.  We are NOT building for solaris.  Steph built a 
    subset of site packages and a few IOC apps.  To use this build in your
    own IOC app:

    * log onto noric
    * setenv EPICS_HOST_ARCH linux-x86
    * edit your app's RELEASE file so that EPICS_BASE is set to:
      /afs/slac/g/lcls/epics/base
    * if you are using EPICS_SITE or SNCSEQ in RELEASE, change them to:
      /afs/slac/g/lcls/epics/site

    To run in the LCLS environment:
    source /afs/slac/g/lcls/epics/script/epicsReset.csh

(5) Integration Testing:

    XL04 is now lcls-ioc05 so that Dayle can include SLC in her pnetApp.
    XL02 is now lcls-ioc03 so that Kristi can include SLC in her pscApp.
    Steph to check with Terri if there is a spare terminal server that
    we could use for lcls-ioc05.  We'd like to change XL01 from solaris to 
    linux for bpm and mgnt testing (next month).  So the new lineup will be:

    XL01     noric04 (starting mid-June or so, slcs6 until then)
    XL02     lcls-ioc03
    XL03     noric06
    XL04     lcls-ioc05
    XL05     lcls-ioc06

    Does Bob Sass need to borrow XL03 for a while?  Bob is interested in
    using the SLC IOC MSG, DB, and CSTR services for his FECC-related work.
