Each input is opto-isolated and is designed to operate over a wide range of positive input voltages. The unit is nonlatching, each CAMAC Read of this unit presenting the data as seen at the inputs at the time of the Read command.
16.1 MODULE SPECIFICATIONS
16.1.1 Module Width Single.
16.1.2 Number of Input Channels 32, (numbered 0 through 31).
16.1.3 Input Levels o "0" = -30 through +1 volts, o "1" = +3 through +30 volts. o (Undefined from +1 volt to +3 volts.)
16.1.4 Input Optically isolated with current drawn not to exceed 10 milliAmps at 30 volts in. ______________________________ This chapter is excerpted from TN-83-01.
ISOLATED DIGITAL INPUT MODULE (IDIM) Page 16-216.1.5 Latching All inputs nonlatching. During a CAMAC read cycle the data is held.
16.1.6 Response Time: 100 microseconds maximum from input to Dataway.
16.1.7 CAMAC Codes, X and Q Responses
16.1.7.1 Read Functions - o F0 A0 reads J1 inputs, R1 = Channel 0 X=1, Q=1 if J1-C9 > 12 volts. o F0 A1 reads J2 inputs, R1 = Channel 16 X=1, Q=1 if J2-C9 > 12 volts.
16.1.7.2 Write Functions - None.
16.1.7.3 Command Functions - None.
16.1.7.4 Other X and Q Responses - X=Q=0 for all other codes and conditions.
16.1.7.5 C, Z, and I: - C, Z, and I have no effect on this module.
16.1.8 CAMAC Speed This module will respond to all CAMAC cycles as defined in IEEE Standard 583-1978.
ISOLATED DIGITAL INPUT MODULE (IDIM) Page 16-316.1.9 Power Required o +6 volts, 500 milliAmps typical, 700 milliAmps maximum; o +24 volts, 2-170 milliAmps, dependent upon J1&J2-C9 loading.
16.1.10 Protection o Inputs will withstand +/- 30 volts indefinitely, and +/- volts for one (1) second without damage. o The +6 and +24 volt lines are each protected with a fuse consisting of a single strand of #36 tinned copper wire. Fusing current is about 3.5 Amps.
16.1.11 Operating Temperature Range 10 to 65 degrees Celsius.
16.2 FRONT PANEL
16.2.1 Front Panel Indicators "N" and "X", red LED's, "Q" and "V", green LED's. ("V" lighted indicates both J1&J2-C9 > 12 volts.)
