Restoring
Shift Luminosity Statisticts |
|
|
The luminosity statisticts for a shift are incorrect. How do you restore the
correct values?Currently there are two ways in which to restore the luminosity
data, the first is a manual method and the second is automatic.
Manually
Restoring Shift Luminosity Statisticts
- log onto mcc.
- bring up a scp
- bring up the "PEPII Luminosity History Plots" Display, by selecting the
"Director's Disply" button from the PEPII Index panel (gif)
- bring up the "PEP-II BIC Injection" EPICS dispaly (gif).
From the scp PEPII Index Panel, select either the "High Energy Ring Panel"
or "Low Energy Ring Panel" button. Next select the "Bunch Inten Contrl
Panel" button on the bottom row. Fianally, select the "BIC EPICS DISPLY"
button and wait a minute or so for an the EPICS "PEP-II BIC Injection"
display to appear.
- From the "PEP-II BIC Injection" display bring up the "Shift Lum"
from the "GoTo" button. (gif)
- On the "PEP-II Shift Totals" display you will notice four columns: Total,
Stable,Logging and Peak. The data under these headings correspond
to the history display for "Intgrt Lum Plot","Intgrt Lum Stable Beam","Intgrt
Lum BaBar Logging" and "Corect Lum Stable Beam" respecively. The latter
list of history plots can be found on the scp "PEPII Luminosity History
Plots" Display (see item 3 above).
- You will need to display the appropriate Luminosity history plot from
the scp for the shift period you want. The number that should be restored
into the EPICS database pv is labled MAX-MIN,
and is located on the lower right-hand corner of the graphics window.

- To determine the name of the EPICS pv to modify on the PEP-II Shifts
Totals display, you will need to move the mouse directly over the number
you want to change, and click the middle mouse botton.
- To enter change an EPICS PV you can bring up "probe" from MCC command
line ( just type probe), enter the channel name, and select the Adjust button.
Enter the new value, and hit return.
Automatically
Restoring Shift Luminosity Statisticts
This automatic proceedure will restore the BIC luminosity PVs listed here.
If you do NOT wish to restore all of these channels you will need to restore
the desired PVs manually using the method listed above.
- log onto mcc
- list the luminosity history files from DCL as follows: dir/date
bic_lum_data:
- The naming convension of these files is L_<minute_of_day>.DAT.
You will need to choose which file you wish to restore. Pick the time at
which the luminosity was last good.
- To restore the data execute the following command
file:
@slccom:restore_luminosity_data <minute_of_the_day>
