Assumption 1 is not correct. Calibration will be necessary. I don't know 
about pedestal. I suspect it will have to be measured also. The system
calibrates by injecting a signal into the toroid.

As far as I know your other assumptions are accurate but I'm not
confidant that I know enough. Please pass them by Gene Cisneros.
