For the AC Switches we now purchase from CDWG (AP7900)
For the UPS's we purchase through Dell. There are many different types of =
UPS's. Are you going to buy one to support many devices? Or buy one for ea=
ch device? Are the workstations Linux or Windows? How many? Are the UPS'=
s for line conditioning or to keep up the workstations? Chances are if you=
don't have power to the workstations, then you probably don't have power d=
own the Linac.

We use the SmartUPS2200rm which is a rack mount device. If you want the U=
PS to shutdown the Linux workstations when power is lost then you will need=
an AP9630 management card for the UPS. This card will allow the UPS to sh=
utdown the workstations safely to avoid corruption.

Subject: UPSes and AC Switches for FACET

Preamble:
Greetings Ken, I am (most unfortunately) the interim manager of part of=20
the FACET project. I will need to buy a UPS for visitor workstations=20
and camera servers for the User Trailer that will sit alongside the=20
Gallery in Sector 20. Also, we will need AC switches for equipment in=20
the Gallery near the FACET interaction point. I'm not asking you to=20
order or specify this equipment, but need to know how to do so myself. =20

Actual question:
Please, which vendors do you work with for UPSes and AC switches? If=20
you could send me a quote for these items or point me to someone who=20
can, that would be most helpful. Thanks!
