Never used RESOLVE?

Used it before but found it difficult, tedious, even trying?

RESOLVE is a handy X-windows enabled optics package now interfaced to the SCL/MCC VAX. If a beamline element is behaving suspiciously, correctors just don't behave as they are supposed to, if you are tired of running matlab, and entering things by hand, RESOLVE may be for you.

Recently we have done a fair bit of DCL work to make RESOLVE simpler and easier to use on SLC/MCC. If you are interested in using RESOLVE with the new pre-processors,follow these steps.

• Find an x or decwindows terminal.
• If you are already logged in, then log out first.
• Log on to SLC (e.g. "telnet slc" or "set host slc", not MCC)
• Enter the command "$dir resolve.dir"
• If the reply is "no files found", proceed. Else stop.
• Enter the command "$@USER_DISK_SLC1:[GLAD.COM]RESOLVE_INSTALL.COM"
• This procedure will log you out of your session when it is finished.
