Advanced Electronics Group developes electronic circuits, signal
processing systems and laboratory measurement techniques for particle
accelerators. Our current concentration is on techniques for
controlling coherent instabilities in particle accelerators and storage
rings. These include GHz bandwidth feedback control systems which sense
motion of charged particles, 500 megasample/sec digital signal
processing systems and GHz bandwidth high power circuits and antennas
which apply correction signals to the particle beam.
Other efforts include particle beam control for future
linear colliders, and in the development of low group delay processing
channels for wideband feedback systems. The technology component
centers on electronic and electro-optic flexible signal processing
channels with GHz bandwidths.
