VMS Editor "eve" using a PC Keyboard

Many people at MCC are in love with the "eve" text editor. "eve" is a VMS text editor. Folks who learned to use "eve" on NCD workstations are sometimes frustrated trying to use eve on a PC because the keyboard mapping is different.

Below is a picture with labels indicating the eve functions which are available on the PC (in this case dell) keyboard.

Some other hints:

• The backspace key doesn't backspace. Use the delete key.
• The backspace key gives a help menu, but the map it shows is not right for the PC keyboard. However once in this help menu mode you can push a keyboard key and the help will tell you what that key does.
