Notes related to the last S20 Project Meeting (11/13)

1. We identified 2 new CD2A goals:

1) Decision on controls philosophy. No date (yet). Needs R. Humphrey's input.

2) Layout of controls for laser system. No date (yet). Needs R. Chestnut's input.

2. For the long lead items, we need to revise and justify the "required lead times" in the latest version of the list (021106LongLeadItems.xls).

3. Dave Dowell's presentation on the Gun/Load-Lock PED startup plans is available in Gun-LL Sub-Group Clendenin/Drop Boxes and also on the Web.

4. John Schmerge's presentation on RF Pulse Shaping PED is on the Web.

Recent laser news: 1) Newport Corporation has signed a contract with IBM to produce aspheric lenses. Work to produce the first lens might begin as early as January 2002. We are negotiating with Newport to test the first lens at SLAC. 2) First IR FROG trace at GTF observed.

Seminar: Dr. Massimo Ferrario (Frascati Laboratory, INFN) will give a talk on "Beam Dynamics study for the SPARC project" on Monday, November 18, starting at 4:00 pm in the LOS (Bldg.137) 3rd floor large conference room.
