1. Limited bandwidth pulse temporal shaping

S20 preparations * (facilities PED).
It is clear that the overall LCLS injector
laser prototype work is critically about pulse 'tailoring' and companion
controls (EPICS). With regard to laser systems, we will buy whatever we can
that meets our specifications within reasonable cost limits. It is essential
that we come into FY'04 with mundane preparations done. It currently looks like
the move to S20 will be at best a year before we must commission the injector.
It is then wise to regard this move as simply the final move of an acceptable
functioning injector laser where there are no outstanding surprises (i.e.
development work is completed to a level adequate for commissioning).
