SPIRES-SLACSPEAK: FIND TERM AFS AFS term from SlacSpeak Glossary AFS -
A widely used Unix network file facility allowing file sharing among machines many thousands of miles apart. AFS is descended from a distributed file system developed at Carnegie Mellon University and was originally called the "Andrew File System" in honor of Andrew Carnegie.
