Regular operating hours at SLAC are from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM during daylight-saving time. For Stanford students who need to work at SLAC off regular operating hours, a valid Stanford University Identification card, a SLAC entry card, or a car-window decal is required for entry. The SLAC entry card may be obtained from the SLAC Personnel office when registering as a SLAC student.

The SLAC Library provides essential information services to support Laboratory research programs in high-energy particle physics; particle accelerator theory, design, and construction; and in synchrotron radiation-based accelerator theory, design, and instrumentation.
In addition, the SLAC Library provides a variety of databases useful to the worldwide high-energy physics community through cooperation with other high-energy physics libraries. The SPIRES-HEP database (http://www.slac.stanford.edu/find/spires.html) provides timely, accurate, and comprehensive bibliographic coverage of the world’s high-energy physics preprints.
