A photon collider testbed at SLAC Abstract: An option for a photon collider interaction region is include in all proposals for future TeV Linear Colliders. Recent progress in the conceptual design of the required lasers and optics have reached the point where prototyping is the next step. As the only existing linear collider, the SLC presents an opportunity to demonstrate gamma-gamma luminosity and gain operational experience with photon colliders. Given the interest in running SLC as a testbed for the NLC interaction region, we propose installing a laser in the SLD hall and replacing the SLC beampipe with one which includes focusing optics for the lasers.
