The D0 Central Fiber Tracker

	The Central Fiber Tracker at D0 is a detector made up of more than 
77,000 precisely located scintillating fibers.  Each fiber is individually 
read out with a Visible Light Photon Counter, a solid-state photodetector 
featuring high quantum efficiency and large gain.  After some brief 
motivation and history, the talk will focus on the technical challenges of 
building this tracker.  The talk will conclude with performance results 
from the early stages of Run II.
