This package defines the ROOT classes which mirror the GlastEvent MonteCarlo TDS classes. The primary ROOT Monte Carlo class is McEvent.

Each McEvent contains:

• Event Id
• Run Number
• Source Id
• Sequence Number
• Collection of McParticles
  1. particle id
  2. status flags
  3. initial position
  4. final position
  5. initial momentum
  6. final momentum
  7. reference (TRef) to mother McParticle
  8. collection of McParticle daughters
• Collection of McPositionHit
  1. monte carlo particle id
  2. volume id
  3. reference (TRef) to the origin McParticle
  4. entry position
  5. exit position
  6. deposited energy
  7. particle energy
  8. time of flight
  9. direction cosine - calculated at run time
• Collection of McIntgratingHit
  1. volume id
  2. reference (TRef) to an McParticle
  3. status flags
  4. first and second moments
  5. map of McParticle and energies

Attention:

In ROOT 3.02.07, it is not possible to access TRefs stored in a ROOT file from compiled code. This bug has been fixed in the development version of ROOT. For now, one must use ROOT interactively to gain access to TRefs stored in a ROOT file.
