ACD high range calibrations
Purpose and use
To provide the signal scale for events read out in the high range of the ACD.
This calibration is used in reconstruction to express the raw PHA values in terms of MIP equivalent signals and eventually in MeV.
This calibration is used in simulation to provide realistic PHA values.
Required inputs
Good high range pedestals and Carbon peak calibrations.
Good Range crossover, pedestals and MIP peak calibration provide a nice crosscheck.
Descriptions of algorithm for one PMT
- Extract the high range pedestal from the input calibration.
- Extract the Carbon peak position, and assign it a value of 33 MIPs, use this to set the PHA/mip slope.
- Arbitrarily assign a saturation point of 2000 PHA counts
