Date: Fri, 9 Jul 2004 13:55:12 -0700 From: "Sheppard, John C." Folks, I have been looking at TORO CB02 6130 as read into the E166 DAQ (also working on BPMS 6010, 6090, and 6130). The preliminary results are encouraging (to me at least). The attached figure (matlab and .jpg) show an overlay run-130.dat E166 DAQ data with SCP buffered data acquisition data that was taken in the same time window. The SCP data is straight out of the SCP and divided by 1e10. For the E166 data, I have included the gain of the line driver channel and the specified TCM front panel calibration of 1 V = 1.6e10 e- as per the documentation and a 3 db attenuation. I had to scale down the E166 toro data by a factor of 1.11 to get the overlay. I am using run124.dat for pedestals. The raw ADC signals were in the range of about 1650 counts. It looks like ADC is saturating except at the regions of pulse id of 39-->110. The goal here is to read the BPM and Toroid signal into the DAQ off the front panels of the respective CAMAC modules and to check to see if we are injecting too much noise. (I guess if we saturate the ADCs then the signal looks nice and flat.....) So, I've got some software written (Matlab of course) to open/close the data files and process the data. I will be working on this for the next several days until we're happy with the results. I have the SCP data in matlab format if any one is interested in poking around. Thanks to all who've helped so far. Best regards, John Oh yes, I have also posted the figures at: http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~jcs/E166/run130_toro.jpg And http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~jcs/E166/run130_toro.fig ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ John C.
