Real Photon Collaboration Engineering Meeting 7/24/01 Minutes Attendees: W. Olson, G. Oxoby, T. Weber, K. Griffioen, R. Arnold, S. Mao Items Discussed: Ray Arnold and Stan Mao will address radiation safety and accident issues. This includes BTM, BCS, and shielding concerns. May be a cost adder. The price of tungsten for the D3 Collimator is expected to be approximately $50 per pound. Which makes just the tungsten material approximately $50,000. Instrument cables from the Counting house to ESA should be in place. Cables to the A- line will be required for the Goniometer, profile detector, etc. The profile will require 50 HV and 50 signal cables. Tom Weber is looking into alumina prices for bricks and cast shapes. Decisions Reached: 1. The high voltage power supplies will be located in the Counting House. Action Items 1. Number of cables required from the counting house to the A-line. Ongoing Action Items 1. This summer's LASS magnet tests. 2. S. Mao will check to see if additional sand bags are required or if existing ones may be used with local shielding 2. W. Olson will ensure that S. Williams gets the budget when he returns from vacation. 3. Someone should be clearly identified as responsible for the Compton Polarimeter 4. We need to start factoring radiation safety and accident scenarios into the E160 design. Someone needs to be given responsibility for this task 1
