Real Photon Collaboration Engineering Meeting 1/22/02 Minutes Attendees: W. Olson, T. Weber, J. Weisend, M. Palrang Items Discussed: 1. M. Palrang has the final E160 design and has emailed it to L. Keller for forwarding to Russia for magnet and stress analysis. For sending the same information to LBNL M. Palrang needs know what file format is required. He will check with S. St.Lorant for this information. 2. J. Weisend and D. Crabb have talked about the exposure of LiD2 . This only becomes a problem after a number of hours of exposure. Based on this, installing LiD2 in the E160 target system will require a little planning but no major alterations to the target design. 3. L. Keller has looked at the muon backgrounds in the detector for the new E160 design. These should not cause any problems New Action Items 1. T. Weber will start working with M. Palrang on the E160 target detail design. The goal is to finish the detail design and identify components for purchase by Oct 1, 2002. Ongoing Action Items 1. J. Weisend will work with D. Crabb and R. Principe to develop a detail drawing showing the dilution refrigerator and the proposed superconducting magnet. 2. Number of cables required from the counting house to ESA. G. Oxoby will start tabulating these numbers based on the data acquisition memo and additional information from the collaboration. 3. P. Bosted will continue the physics simulations of the proposed change to the RPC design. 4. The interaction of the LASS magnet and all its iron with the E161/ E159 7 T target magnet needs to be carefully modeled using a 3-D field simulation. 5. Serious engineering of the shielding and earthquake supports associated with the LASS magnet must be started. J. Weisend
