Present: Peter Bosted, Keith Griffioen, Don Crabb, Perry Anthony Detectors: E155 Hodoscopes are being sent to William and Mary this week so can start modifying them. Keith will bring some of the Neutron bars to WM. There are about 79 or so. 1.6 m long by 10 cm by 10 cm. We plan to use them for the 3rd ("muon") plane in E160/1. E161 Target: change memo ready: Peter will distribute to collaboration. New magent has 6 separately powered trim coils, so can be tuned up in situation with LASS, etc. Plan on 8 cm target length. Will forces be too big? Probably re-inforcement of coils will be needed. The bore is 19 cm, and magnet is 93 cm long. Still meet in Nov. with Oxford? Budget: still on continuing resolution. Have asked to purchase target, microwave tube, PMT's, and scintillator in January, but won't know decision until later. E161 Spectrometer: Sebastian and Peter investigating option with the 29D36 magnet in front of LASS filled with iron. Seems to work pretty well. Photon Beam Line: Roger Erickson reported that money to buy the copper conductor for the dump magnets has been approved, but that "All other funding for this project is on hold, pending clarification of SLACs budget for this fiscal year." The spare coils have been located. The dump magnets need to be moved before the rains come.
