Present: Perry Anthony, Peter Bosted, Don Crabb, Keith Griffioen, Bill Olson, Steve Rock, John Weisend Safety Reviews; plan to start them in May. Electircal safety already done. Pressure vessel may just be by email. Peter may work on radiation safety. Need drawing for earthquake, and design of blocks. HEEk probably straightforward (Be, LiD targets). E160 spectrometer: new 3D field calculations now becoming availalbe. With max. current and 2.2 m long wedge, get about 4.8 T-m in LASS (compared to 3.4 had been assuming, with 1.8 m wedge). This could mean better resolution, less backgrounds. But detector sizes may change a bit. Will do detailed studies in next weeks. E161 simulations: Peter found reasonably good open charm signal with two muons 30.4 GeV. Steve starting again with Herwig so also simulate open charm and backgrounds (esp. two muons possibility). E160 Target. Not much happening: work will resume next week. Collaboration Meeting: will be May 31 or June 3. Keith looking at newer data from HERA. Nice fitting for quasi-elastic parametrization. Will help Miao get the inelastic data. Donal has accounted for all 79 neutron bars. Peter should ask Terry Tuck about scintillators in E.S.A.
