Present: Peter Bosted, Bill Olson, Perry Anthony, John Weisend, Steve Rock, Don Crabb, Ross Hicks E160 Review will be this coming Thursday. Discussed each of the talks. Ray will not be able to cover photon detectors, so Peter or Keith will. Also, Peter or Keith will talk about progress on Compton Polarimeter simulations, under study by Ross Hicks and Jeff Shaw at Umass. Stan Mao has been making good progress on radiation protection, and will present this at the review. Bill Olson will talk about budget. The W in D3 is expensive: we may be able to use a lower grade (Dieter will check into this). Quotes for Alumina were very high, but Peter pointed out he has a much lower quote from Coors. E161 Target: Up/Down on issue of U.Va buying spare EIO tube. Depends on DOE and support for SLAC nuclear physics in general. Collaboration Meeting coming up on Aug. 20. Don Crabb will lead a discussion on E161/E159 target issues. Hope to have good progress on Compton Polarimeter and options for measuring linear polarization (presented by Ross Hicks?). Steve Williams has agreed to give lab perspective on schedule. E160 may not actually begin data taking until early 2004, given tentative schedule for E158, then GLAST tests (during which photon beam would be commissioned).
