Dear Colleagues, There will be an ATLAS pixel system upgrade meeting at LBNL on May 22-23, 2008. This meeting is primarily aimed at the US ATLAS community but is open to all. Members of the US ATLAS community that did not participate in the design and construction of the current pixel detector but who are interested in pixel upgrades are encouraged to attend. A preliminary agenda with proposed speakers(or people to arrange a speaker)is provided in the attached document. Please confirm that you will either speak or arrange to have a speaker. General comments on the agenda are most welcome as well. Status reports and preliminary plans for FY09 are expected from the ongoing US pixel-related R&D activities. An additional goal is to advance the system-level design for a possible future SLHC pixel detector to help focus future R&D activities. To this end, we will try to circulate in advance a small number of questions for each major R&D area to stimulate discussion. The status of the ongoing Task Force on B-Layer Replacement will be given at the meeting. A very preliminary discussion of possible US roles in pixel upgrades will be held at the end of the workshop. The meeting will be held in Bldg. 54 (Perseverance Hall) at LBNL. Information regarding visiting LBNL may be found at http://www.lbl.gov/visitor-info.html ****PLEASE e-mail Tami Blackwell TABlackwell@lbl.gov if you plan to attend the meeting (this applies also to LBNL personnel) by April 15****. There will be a no-host BBQ dinner at LBNL on May 22 and please indicate in your e-mail if you will attend this dinner or not. She can also provide logistical assistance, if you need it. Regards, Gil
