Minutes SLAC-ALTAS TDAQ Meeting 03-Aug-2006 ------------------------------------------- Present: Sarah, Steffen, Amedeo, Su Dong, Rainer Stephen (via e-mail): DetCommon 0.0.1 is now closed, still waiting for AtlasCore 2.0.2. It is in the process of also being added to the nightly builds (there is an area under the dev nightly but it doesn't look like it has been populated yet). I'm (still) in the process of trying to get access to install it at Point1, I keep getting passed on to someone else... Sarah: Now have a real proxy in the CMT package, the reposity still has the dummy. Have different version sof MySQL that don't mix well, but ultimately want to use COOL anyway. Did some magic to mix MySQL version for the stress test. Stress test a success. Will still have to watch out which version or MySQL COOL is built against. Next trying to get RunControl to work at SLAC. Still have issues but Andrea can run at Irvine with the same xml file using dbproxy. Ran on up to two nodes so far. Amedeo: Stress test. Richard created the test with realistic queries. More databases being queries than in the development setup. Verified that it read back exactly what was requested. Takes 4 minutes to load everything, but the test used more configuration data than is actually expected to be needed for HLT. About 30 seconds to start Athena and load all the libraries. Also tested up to two. [Long discussion on how to control/monitor proxies on O(1000) nodes.] Steffen: The farm has a home with existing power. Will move some time in September. Order of IR2 replacement switch got stuck. Order went out Aug 1 and ETA 45 days i.e mid-September. Can still use IR2 farm in the meantime. Matthias working on getting SL4 up and running. Plan to install 3-5 of the new machines (dual-head dual-core) in the lab. Will take them out again at the time of IR2 installation. Purchase of the CERN HP switch(es). Conclude it will have benefit from one even if we didn't go for multicasts. We should go ahead and buy one through CERN. The "infamous" Oracle server. Making slow progress. A.O.B. None.
