BaBar on-line Object Oriented databases

A. A. Salnikov

TheBaBar experiment at SLAC has been collecting data since 1999. We describe here two components of the BaBar on-line detector control system - the configuration and the ambient databases. The configuration database stores and provides access to various settings for hardware and software of the on-line system. The ambient database keeps track of the status of detector subsystems and is essential for data quality assurance. Both databases were implemented using the Objectivity/DB OODBMS and operate successfully as components of the BaBar on-line system.
