BaBar Physics List

Last modified :

Description

The BaBar physics list contains the processes required to simulate B-physics events in the BaBar detector. The initial high-energy event is provided by a set of event generators chosen by the user. The simulation includes Bhabha scattering, dimuons, and the particles arising from B-decay. As a result the physics list processes and models have been chosen for an energy range of 9 GeV and below. The BaBar physics list is already quite mature and has been used since 2001 for the production of billions of simulated events.

A more detailed description of the BaBar physics list can be found here.

Getting the Physics List

The physics list directory can be downloaded as follows:

Test Modules

Several modules are provided as regression tests in order to compare physics results from release to release of Geant4. These modules are based on simplified detector geometries.

Validation

Validation tests are provided to compare physics results from experiments and test beams. These are based on realistic detector geometries. For each test a set of comparison plots are maintained.
