28 April 1995 To: Distribution: From: Stan Ecklund Subject: "IR +- 1m Engineering" Meeting Notes 28 April 1995 New updates of drawings, both vertex and machine, were discussed. Martin's drawing has the latest (3-tip) mask and B1 block dimensions and shows mask cooling channels. The support for B1 is moved outboard, leaving more room for cables. Next the clearance around Q1 needs to be determined to see if adequate for cable runs. Q1 being offset 21 mm complicates the cable packing. Roy's and Fred's drawing has the relocated gimbals, and shows cable run space. Next step is to merge the drawings and check interferences again. The BPM between B1 and Q1 should be rotated to avoid being hit by synchrotron radiation. John H. noted that the 18 KPSI compressive stress he reported last week is not small (as I had inferred) for copper material. Hobey described the shielding Dave Coupal has added to reduce detector backgrounds. The shielding between B1 and Q1 presents an interference problem for cable routing and the vacuum pump there. Action Items: 1. Temperature Specifications for B1, Q1. [] 2 Update drawing: [Martin Nordby, Fred Goozen] Check for interferences. Expand to include Q1. Flip mask to correspond to correct LER geometry Switch upbeam(HER) flange and bellows, show flange pair. Shielding, rotated BPM, Radial Ion pump,... 3. HOM RF calculations with new mask geometry. [Eddie Lin] 4. Check that a rotated BPM misses synchrotron rad fan. [Mike] 5. Maintain list of support tube parameters [Hobey] add Q1 radii, offset, support barrel radii,... 6. Meet with Dave Coupal re shielding interferences [Hobey] Next Meeting: 13:00 Friday 5 May 1995 in the Yellow room with TV to LBL attachments: Transparencies
