Workshop

A workshop on semileptonic and
radiative rare B decays

Questions for session 2 link to papers
  1. What are shape functions?:
    • Are they truly properties of the B meson, and thus do not depend on the decay mode?
  2. What is the appropriate parameterization of the shape function?:
    • What additional informations do we have on the shape function (positivity, behavior of the tails,...)?
    • Can we avoid the long tails?
    • How does the parameterization relate to the parameters Lambda_bar and L_1?
  3. How do we parametrize the errors from 1/m_b effects (subleading shape functions)?
  4. How do we measure the shape functions?
  5. How do we relate Lambda_bar and L_1 determined from b-> c to b -> u and b -> s gamma?:
    • What is the impact of energy cuts on leptons or photons?
  6. Are there ways to measure |Vub| without the use of shape functions?
